Avantica Technologies releases an advanced native application for the iPhone

Avantica Technologies, a leading software development company with offices in Costa Rica and Peru, recently announced the release of StoreXperience EasyShopping for the iPhone. This rich mobile application was developed for StoreXperience Inc, an established service provider for the retail industry, active both in the US and France. This application was developed using Apple's recently released iPhone 2.0.

StoreXperience offers a Personal Shopping Assistant available 24x7. Through StoreXperience,
consumers receive valuable product data, information on accessories, and special offers directly onto the consumer’s mobile phone with one simple click, when and where they need it the most. It allows stores and brands to inform consumers and provide incentives for immediate purchase before the final purchasing decision is made. The application also gives the consumer the option to reserve the product, and guides him to the local store for final evaluation and purchase. StoreXperience greatly enhances the shopping capabilities of the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPhone 3G, be in the context of e-commerce or traditional retail. “Working with Avantica Technologies was a truly gratifying experience. All the professionals we had a chance to work with, demonstrated advanced technological knowledge, robust capabilities, and remarkable work ethics. In addition, communication proved to be easy, as most of them spoke very good English. Finally, hiring a nearshore company proved to be the right decision in terms of overall project management, and greatly facilitated day-to-day coordination”, commented Herve Pluche, president of StoreXperience.

Avantica asserted its technical leadership by quickly developing an application for the iPhone, using a Software Development Kit (SDK) that was released only a couple of months ago.

StoreXperience’s iPhone version is one of the first applications developed for the new platform since Apple launched its SDK in March 2008. This version is a native iPhone application written under the objective-C language that, in our opinion, provides the best way to take advantage of the look & feel and usability features of the iPhone. The mobile application is connected to StoreXperience’s back end platform through Web Services, in the same way the company connected the other mobile applications developed in the Windows Mobile, Symbian or other development environments.

Throughout the project, a total of four employees worked together with representatives of StoreXperience to reach aggressive objectives in terms of functionalities and schedule. The Avantica team consisted of a Senior Architect, an Engineer, a Project Manager and a Quality Assurance engineer.

“Avantica demonstrated that working with Costa Rica is a very attractive option for American companies looking for quality developments, under a tight schedule and expecting great value for money. We currently have other development efforts underway in Ukraine and Romania, but based on Avantica’s excellent performance, we are keen on transferring future developments to Costa Rica”, Hervé Pluche added.

The iPhone version of StoreXperience is already available, free of charge, on Apple's iTunes AppStore.
