The Media is usually known for harshly criticizing the way public and private companies are managed, and in many cases their work is surrounded by negative connotations. Acknowledging its critical role in the shaping public opinion, El Financiero newspaper assumed the task of highlighting the work of those figures who have excelled positively in the business world.

For the past fourteen years El Financiero (EF) has awarded those entrepreneurs around the country who have excelled in their management style. This year has been particularly difficult for the global economy and therefore EF decided to recognize to those figures who were able to overcome the crisis by finding creative ways to get ahead. Awards were given in the categories of expansion, management, investment and innovation among others.

We are proud to announce that in this year´s edition of EF´s Entrepreneur of the year Awards our CEO “Mario Chaves” was honored with an award for innovation for Avantica´s incursion in mobile technologies. This is a recognition that rewards his visionary and tenacious attitude to anticipate trends and forge a path not previously explored.
