Less than two years ago he placed a bet on a new niche: developing mobile applications.
He played the cards hoping that in the near future all existing Web applications would have a mobile component.

With projected growth in the number of users of smartphones and sales of these devices, it is clear that the bet was sensible.

"We don’t intend to make an application and sell millions, but to be recognized as a technology provider specializing in mobile applications," said the president of the Costa Rican company Avantica Technologies, Mario Chaves.

"Everyone who wants to make an application for a mobile tool for their company, for example, may contact us as experts in the field," added Chaves who spends part of his time in Avantica´s office in Silicon Valley, California.

To date, six applications have been developed for iPhone, one for Android and Windows Mobile.
They have four Apps in beta stage and three more in development for these phones and for BlackBerry.

These applications are classified into categories of automation, information, financial, entertainment, management and expense reporting. Some are free and others cost up to $ 90, although is yet unknown how many users they have, they estimate that some are held by about 15,000 users.

"Personally the app I use the most
